W Magazine describes Lana’s style as, “a cross between the sultry throw-back glamour of Priscilla Presley and the casual cool California girl. Much like her music, her style is at once retro-chic and forward-thinking.”
Sunday night my best friend messaged me to say that she missed me and had chosen a new style icon, Lana Del Rey.
She then proceeded to say that she wanted to go shopping, but she needed me with her to style her. At which point I said, “OMG, wait. Can I style you from afar?”
She said yes, and thus the following lookbook was created.
Look One: You’re Growing on Me
This look is inspired by Lana’s love of florals and black. I added a dash of western flair to complete the look.
You could even top it off with a hat from look four or five to dress it up a bit more.

Look Two: Summertime Sadness

Who says you can’t wear white after labor day? Especially if you’re hit with the sadness that summertime is over.
The second look is inspired by the above image, this look is the perfect transition from summer to fall.

Look Three: Groupie Love

When she’s off-duty the NY girl favors hi-tops and baseball jackets, and this look captures her love of vintage and retro t-shirts.
Not feeling The Beetles shirt? Swap it out for this Rolling Stones tee from Nasty Gal.
I gave it a bit of a 70s flair by adding high-waisted flare jeans and the same western belt from the ‘You’re Growing on Me’ look above.
I then added the van low tops and leather jacket which makes this the perfect casual look for fall.

Look Four: Born to Be Wild

My best friend had already purchased the dress (I’m not sure where from) and the faux fur coat for the above look Lana is sporting.
I decided to update Lana’s look a bit by mixing the striped midi t-shirt dress with the leopard faux fur coat and throwing a hat on top.
Fishnet socks are all the rage for fall and paired with the faux leather boots, this look is sure to rock the block.

Look Five: Young & Beautiful

Lana is known for the sultry throw-back glamour of old Hollywood and I wanted to find a semi-affordable way to provide a similar look for my best friend.
This dress is perfect as is for jazz lounges, concerts, or a swanky night out with your gal pals. Need a dress for a wedding? Simply pair this with some chunky black platform heels.

Which of the above looks is your favorite? Who is your ultimate style icon? Let me know in the comments!
Oh I just love that green lace dress! Such a beautiful Fall color!
Oooh I’m feeling so inspired right now. I love Lana’s style and the vintage rock n’ roll feel to her looks. Thanks for putting this together!
I love these recreations of Lana’s outfits! The first one is my favorite. I really hope that the bell bottom jeans are back for good. I really love that trend.
All of these looks are so cute! My favorite is Summertime Sadness! Love the white dress.
