Bars with fireplaces make for the ultimate cozy night, but for some reason, they’re strangely hard to find in a city that’s freezing a quarter of the year.
So, I researched and found the best places to sit fireside during the winter season. Check these places out with some friends or that special someone.
Moody’s Pub (5910 N Broadway)

While it’s true that I was catfished on a date once here, Moody’s Pub is a personal favorite amongst my friends and me.
Moody’s has two fireplaces, and you can even get spiked hot chocolate to drink! Plus, their pub food is insanely good.
The Dandy Crown (694 N Milwaukee Ave)

Head to The Dandy Crown for their happy hour and cozy fireplace. The mid-century modern vibes of the bar and the velvet plush furniture make it easy to spend hours cozied up near the fireplace.
Scofflaw (3201 W Armitage Ave)

The Scofflaw is the perfect setting for a cozy date night in front of their fireplace. They have a specialized cocktail menu, and I’ve got my eye set on their Scofflaw burger. Seriously, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Drawing Room (12 S Michigan Ave)

If you’re a Harry Potter fan, then you’ll feel like you’ve stepped right into Hogwarts at the Drawing Room. For those that are fans of Outlander, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a castle in the Scottish moors.
Located inside of the Chicago Athletic Association, you’re bound to be able to spend an afternoon reading and writing; or a romantic date night with that special someone.
Wilde Bar & Restaurant (3130 N Broadway)

This bar and restaurant is named after Oscar Wilde and a book lover’s dream. The booths and tables near the fireplace are perfect for enjoying a meal and the company of a good book.
In fact, I’m thinking I’ll take myself on a date here and spend some time with my favorite book, The Picture of Dorian Gray.
So there you have it, five bars in Chicago with fireplaces to check out this winter season. Have you gone to any of these? Which one is your favorite?
