Chelsea Gros Boudreaux, a Lake Charles native, met Carl Boudreaux, a Texan native, in high school. While they had classes together, it wasn’t until after high school that they officially met through mutual friends– a year later the two were married.
In October of 2005, the Boudreauxs bought the Yoga Center of Lake Charles, established in 1998 by Janet Houtz, as Hurricane Rita was rolling into town. “I started practicing yoga the previous year or so before and was looking into becoming certified. After a while, the Yoga Center became available for sale and all avenues of our life led us down the path to purchase it,” said Boudreaux.

Hooking up. That seems like all people have time for and dating apps like Tinder, OkCupid, etc. are keeping the hook up culture alive. What ever happened to dating? To meet cutes? To locking eyes with strangers across the room and to someone asking you out?. Picking you up and handing you flowers? Everything in today’s society is too fast paced. We all suffer from FOMO (fear of missing out) when it comes to dating and are constantly looking for the next best thing.
We need to slow it down. We need to know that we can still date without feeling like we have to take our clothes off.

Terri Kullerd Fontenot, a Moss Bluff native, wears many hats. Fontenot not only works on the Calcasieu Parish School Board, but she’s also a certified Wilton cake decorator and teaches classes at Michael’s, the Moss Bluff Senior Center, as well as private lessons. “Even Superman had a day job,” Fontenot laughed.
