Liquid Lipsticks Review: NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks & Tarteist Lip Paints

Hey, Caf-Fiends!

The last two blog posts have been all about coffee, a new topic for this blog–although this blog is titled CoffeeColumnist. My blog is meant to be a lifestyle blog that you can read while sipping your favorited caffeinated drink and as such, I want to have a beauty category as well. Plus, I’ve always loved makeup and fashion!

Anyway, read on to find out more about NYX Liquid Suede and Tarteist Lip Paint and see the swatches of my favs!

Let me start by saying that I’ve always been a fan of Tarte Cosmetics. I used their BB Cream religiously and to be honest I still have the empty tube. I recently bought their Amazonian clay full coverage foundation and maracuja creaseless concealer and while I love it, it’s not my exact shade. I’ll do a review of the foundation and concealer in another post. Let’s move onto the lip paints.

I first got a Tarteist Lip Paint in my March Ipsy Glambag and I’m happy that I did. Below is the description of the lip paints that I received from Ipsy.  I received a glossy lip paint in the shade WCW and a matte lip paint in the shade Rosé.

Tarteist Lip Paint

  • Vegan-friendly, this brand defines eco-chic.

  • Whether you want bright and bold or nice and neutral, there’s a shade for that.

  • A precision applicator makes even crazy colors easy to apply without drawing outside the lines.

  • The velvet matte finish nails all of our Goldilocks criteria; neither too matte nor too glossy.

  • An extra coat can change the whole look and pump up the color dramatically, always a nice option when you’re going from day to night.

Overall, I absolutely love the matte lip paint! The shade is the perfect semi-nude for my warm skin tone, dries fast and it doesn’t leave my lips feeling sticky.

This leads me to the glossy lip paint in the shade WCW. It isn’t as opaque as I was hoping it would be and it does leave my lips feeling sticky–which I’m not a huge fan of at all.

I’ll buy the Tarteist Matte Lip Paint in different shades but I won’t be buying the glossy lip paint.

NYX Liquid Suede

You know how some people are die hard MAC fans? Well, I’m a die hard NYX fan and I have always loved their products.

They used to sell them at CVS Pharmacy and I was crushed when they stopped selling them at CVS.

Imagine my surprise when I walked into Target and found a whole NYX Cosmetics section. I spent about fifteen minutes looking at every single product before settling on the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks in Cherry Skies, Subversive Socialite, and Alien.

“Doll up your lips in plush and vibrant color! Our Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick glides on and sets into a striking matte finish. Now available in 12 more velvety-soft shades, this waterproof lippie creates a positively polished look with every swipe,” states NYXCosmetics.com.

Let me tell you! THESE. ARE. AMAZING! They are my favorite matte liquid lipsticks ever. They feel good on my lips, aren’t sticky whatsoever, and they dry super fast. Plus, they last, like I mean no joke they won’t come off your lips or in my case my arm.

I put these swatches on my arm an hour ago and I scrubbed with a Clorox Wipe, my makeup remover cloth, and a baby wipe and it’s still faintly on my skin. Don’t believe me? Check out the photo of my arm after I scrubbed it three times.

If you’re in search of a lasting liquid suede cream lipstick for a formal event or need something that will last all day, I highly suggest that you give these NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks a chance!
